The people behind the story

We made the book we couldn't find anywhere.

Most kids' books have a hero. Ours has your kid as the hero. We started Dream Labs because we couldn't find what we wanted: a book where a child picks it up and actually recognizes themselves. Not just their name in the text. Their face on the page.

Why we built this

There's a shift that happens when sport clicks for a kid. They score once and they stand differently. They pick a team and talk about nothing else for a month.

Most personalized books drop a name into a template. The child's name is there. The child isn't.

So we built Dream Labs. You upload a photo, pick a sport, choose a lesson worth keeping. We write the story around your child. Not watching from the sidelines. On the pitch, in the arena, on the court.

We went through a lot of drafts getting this right.

When a parent sends us a photo of their kid holding the book open at their own face on the page, we don't need to say anything else.

The best feedback we get is silence, a kid too busy reading to look up.

Meet the founders

Two people who wanted to build something they'd actually buy for their own kids.

Nick Stein

Co-founder

Nick comes from marketing and growth. He got obsessed with how stories shape what kids think is possible, and decided to do something about it.

Shoban Kumar

Co-founder

Shoban built the tech and product side. He's the one who worked out how to turn a photo and a few details into a printed book your child will actually want to read.

What we believe

Kids who see it, become it.

When a child sees themselves on the page, in their team's kit, playing the sport they love, something shifts. They start carrying themselves differently.

Stories should feel real.

Not a lesson wrapped in a story. Just a good story, where your kid is the main character, playing alongside the footballers and athletes they already love.

Sport changes lives, on the pitch and off it.

Part of every sale goes to a charity that gives more kids access to sport.

Give them a story they'll want to read again tomorrow.

Takes a few minutes. The book lasts a lot longer.
